A PERSONAL NOTE FROM CARLA

Time for a change? Many contemplating career change say it feels like standing on the edge of a cliff, both terrifying and exhilarating, looking out over a limitless landscape of opportunity they can see but can’t touch. Is that you?

As a Career Coach, I am trained to listen and guide the job seeker to find their perfect position. My clients include those who are looking to advance in their current job, transition to their own business, just starting out after college, or even getting ready to retire. Helping people adapt to and master life’s changes is what I do best.

The Wine

RAVINES WINE CELLAR -

Ravines Wine Cellars rests on a hillside overlooking glacier-carved Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes wine region of New York State. Our cool growing season, sloped vineyard sites and the moderating effects of the deep lakes create ideal conditions for producing vibrant, balanced and food-friendly wines.

We are a small, family-owned winery dedicated to the craft of fine classical wine-making, wines that express the unique qualities of the vineyard sites, the growing season, and the winemaker's vision.

RAVINES SAUVIGNON BLANC -

Showing all of the elements that make Sauvignon Blanc a favorite: lime, citrus, floral, steely, with a mineral tinge. With its firm acidity, aromatic intensity, and a long clean finish, this Sauvignon Blanc promises many interesting food pairings.

Proud Supporter and Collaborator with the

Seneca Lake Wine Trail

New York State’s Largest and Most Active Wine Trail.

In 1986, the Seneca Lake Wine Trail was formed in the heart of New York State’s Finger Lakes region to attract more visitors to experience its rich history, beauty, and production of world-class wines. Today, Seneca Lake Wine Trail is the largest and most active wine trail in New York State with a community of over 30 wineries, a distillery, several breweries and hard cider producers and a meadery.

Seneca Lake’s natural combination of deep water, at 632 feet it is the deepest of the Finger Lakes, and sloping hillsides provides the ideal microclimate for grape growing. Amy Irvine

As a kid, I always liked numbers. I would spend hours creating math problems and solutions. Whenever I wanted to play math teacher, my brother was forced to be my student! Given my love of facts and figures, it’s really no surprise that I chose a career where I work with numbers.

I believe that you can use your dollars and cents to create and live a meaningful life unique to your own dreams and desires. I started Rooted Planning Group because I wanted to offer financial PLANNING services. Our profession has a tendency to focus on “assets under management,” but I wanted to focus on the journey of your life (what I refer to in the podcast as your financial “vineyard”). I truly believe that, like wine, life and finances have different palettes that should be celebrated and not judged.

My journey as a business owner was not a direct path; it’s more of a long and winding road. Over the course of the past 30 years, I’ve worked in various financial services positions, but I’m most proud of the ensemble of women that I’ve brought together at Rooted Planning Group.

I am the author of Uncork Your Finances and the podcast host of Money Roots.

I also co-founded the Southern Tier Women's Financial Conference in 2014, an annual event dedicated to collaboration, networking, and financial education for women.
